I want the customer to have the option to have the music or not.
I want an option on the homepage at least where the customer can turn the music on or off. I for one do not like websites that have music and I know others are like that but I do have music on my homepage because all it is is a slide show. Some customers like it and others do not, so I think there should be an option like on MOST websites that have music to mute the music.

This would be a great feature and useful to me as I have slideshows that I would like to have music with but not to come on automatically. If the viewer is in an environment that this would be non-distracting, I would like to have this option to deepen the experience.

I agree... most sites that have sound have a one-click mute button or image. It's just courteous. Don't want to make them poke around to find the little 6 line thing...

I found the 6 line bar to be tough to see at first. I too would like an up front mute button that is easily seen without searching through the small items.

you can mute it on the page click by your slideshow and there's a thing with 6 lines just push the button all the way left and it mutes.

Well, I hardly think my "tangent" or "rant", as you put it, was unclear. I'm saying that a "Mute" button is superfluous, as is the inevitable, related desire for an integrated volume control. This is your photo website, not a jukebox. There is no need for music controls.
Either choose to have music, or choose not to have music. Simple as that.
This may not be feedback that you're interested in... but it IS feedback. Personally, I believe there are a slew of new features that Zenfolio ought to be spending their time working on... and tinkering with slideshow music controls in not one of them. I'm sorry... it's honestly nothing personal... it's just my feedback and my opinion on the matter of this feature request.

@ G . Coleman , All we are asking for is a clear and well designed Mute button.
So how about you give feedback on such and not on what ever else it was you are talking about in your tangent rant .

I'm sorry, but having music isn't all that important. If you are really THAT concerned about visitors to your website not being able to turn off music, then just get rid of it.
Do you really want your customers just sitting there on your homepage listening to music (where they can't buy anything or learn anything further about you or your services), or do you want them roaming your site looking at your work and reading your contact info?
As the creator of your own website, I think it's reasonable that you would make the decision of whether or not customers need to listen to music every time they go to your homepage. Customers shouldn't have to choose. Either you demand they listen to music, or you spare them the theatrics and let your photos speak for themselves.
There are too many other practical features that Zenfolio ought to be working on... letting customers play with your homepage music isn't one of them.

I actually would prefer music to be OFF by default and then turned on if wanted, rather than having to quickly try and mute music I didn't want playing in the first place.
