improving the search function
I need my stock clients to see more than 500 images returned in the search. The Global Zenfolio search opens them up to searching my competition. Photoshelter returns all the images tagged with the keyword(s) searched for, even if there are thousands.

Real life scenario - family funeral with 2 days to prepare photos for the wake, have in excess of 1000 photos of family member's name keyword on each photo spread across many many galleries. Search returned 500 so had to individually go through every gallery to look for images - took hours when I didn't have hours. Horrible. On top of that, when Zenfolio archived older galleries it screwed up the keywords previously imported from Lightroom as one, two, three (3 distinct search terms) and replaced it with one two three (a phrase). Had to go in and correct hundreds and hundreds of keywords. Ridiculous. Support said it was user error, but have never changed my keyword practices in Lightroom and only found these errors in galleries that Zenfolio archived. 3rd complaint - archived galleries have to be re-rendered to display properly and it can take minutes to do so. No one coming to the site to buy a photo would ever wait that long, and again, huge waste of my time do this.

I find it amazing that this limit was identified as a problem in 2011 and seven years later we still have a limit of 500 search results. I can't remember the last time I ran across a search engine with that kind of limit. As has been mentioned several times before across multiple feature requests, full search results is critical to our sites and partial search results damages our businesses.

I know this is old, however in a status of "Planned." I too would like to see more than 500 results - perhaps as a part of the forthcoming system improvements. Thank you.

Wildcards misssing for searches!
When I perform a search to find some photos or galleries on a Zenfolio site,
I can not use any wildcards in the search string ???e.g.
Maybe I’d like to find all images on my site that have the text “day”
using a search string something like “*day*” I'd expect it to find all images with
“Sunday” “Monday”, “day”, “days”, etc”
But, at he moment, it is not possible, please include that in this planned update.

I've just noticed that the searchbox in Zenfolio cannot search for more than one keyword at a time?

The 500 limit defeats the purpose of the search box, IMO. I have several subjects with more than 500 images.

seriously, I was shocked to see only 500 results returned. Dismayed, really. This is supposed to be a service for professionals--most of whom process tens of thousands of images? SmugMug defector's remorse setting... in... must... see... improvement........

Totally agree. This is an upgrade that the search tool really needs. It's too bad my votes are already locked up in a few other feature requests. As soon as some get released (when the requests are fulfilled), I'll certainly be back here to add my share of votes.

Unlimited number of images in the search return increases sales, which will benefit all. It gives the buyer a better chance to find the exact image to meet their needs, which in turn gives the seller a better chance to get their images seen.

I have to agree. As a photo buyer, I definitely would want to see every image available, not a limited number. What if the image I need doesn't show up in the search? More time/work for me and less $ for the photographer.

Limiting the number of images in the search can
very often limit sales. Please consider making the search return
an unlimited number of images - it's a win-win for
everyone!
