Allowing panorama photos to scroll left & right on screen
Like SmugMug when you view a panorama you can zoom in or scroll left and right. Most panoramas looks too small on 1 screen if it cannot be scrolled.

A zoom and pan feature would be great, but let's not do it with any platform specific technology...

Implement Microsoft's Deep Zoom technology (powered by Silverlight). Benefit: Our high res photos are never available for unauthorized download, and at the same time the customer can dynamically zoom in and appreciate the full detail of the photo.
This is excellent for Panoramas, but works well for just about any photo. -

This really applies to any image that is larger than the available pixels within the view area of the users monitor. Some form of zoom feature is NEEDED that will show up to 1:1. This is especially needed for vertical format images, where the current zenfolio sizing is very conservative.

Yes I agree. I have some very nice panoramas but they really can't be displayed on Zenfolio without a scroll option. Vertical as well as horizontal scrolling would be great.

I would like to show my panoramas on zenfolio. This would be a great option. Thanks.

For a horizontal panorama, the default view should scale the height to fit the window, as usual, but create a horizontal scrollbar automatically. For a vertical panorama (I've only taken a couple of these), the opposite would hold, of course. This panoramic viewing mode could be triggered automatically by the pixel height & width in the image file (say 2:1 as a threshold).

Lots of people are taking panoramas & this function should be included in customer viewing mode.
