I would love to see zenfolio partner with ProDPI.
I know Zenfolio as a company is happy offering mPix (and mPixPro) as their main partner labs here in America, but I briefly toyed with SmugMug this past year because the yearly membership price was comparable and they had just added my favorite vendor, WHCC -- but then they hiked their yearly fees another $100 to $250 for the plan I was on, which is unacceptable to me for what I get from them. (I also prefer BayPhoto and ProDPI over mPix ANY DAY). Plus, SmugMug's back-end UI was convoluted and weird and Zenfolio is intuitive, easily customizable and beautiful.
I've complained about this time and again when I approach the Zenfolio booth at WPPI, but the owner always seems defensive instead of responsive/approachable and just tells that most of Zenfolio's client base IS happy with mPix and then also proceeds to tell me then I should just offer the option to self-fulfill if I don't like mPix. That doesn't seem like an acceptable response to me.
Zenfolio: I love you dearly and have been with you for FIVE YEARS now. PLEASE consider whatever it might take to partner with another major quality lab such as the ones I listed above. I saw the prints from mPix one of my clients got and it was not up to my standards at all with picture quality/color/paper, whereas WHCC has NEVER let me down.
PLEASE... I'd like to stay with you but there are a few little quirks I'd like to see ironed out and this is a BIGGIE for me, as well as for other people I know who use your service. White House Custom Color (WHCC), Bay Photo and ProDPI all get my vote. Thanks for listening!!
I'm not a fan of mpix but love the time it saves me to have the orders self fulfilled by the clients. I use ProDPI as my lab for everything else and would love to have the consistency.
Eco-friendly papers are crucial to my "green" business. I can't use the same papers at Mpix, MpixPro, & Millers. I need to be able to allow clients to order online and receive their prints, and still be environmentally conscious.
Integration beyond MPIXPro/Millers/MPIX. Their working temp of 5000K for non-corrected images is ridiculous given a world where monitors are closer to 6500 to 7000K. They want you to edit at that temp, but then your web images are useless. If you have them color correct, the results are all over the place. I think SmugMug got it right in their shoot out that MPIX/MIllers was the the worst performer. ProDPI is WYSIWYG for a calibrated monitor at 6500K. WHCC is not bad either - also 6500K for monitor calibration to their printers, again equaling usable web and print images that are not color corrected. I understand that you may have exclusivity arrangements with MPIX Pro, and that some like WHCC may not want to compete against their own ProofPro but when possible, it would be great to offer a few more labs, and ProDPI is just stellar.
YES YES Yes!! Less expensive than others and quality is exceptional with Prodpi. Also customer service is excellent. Please make this happen. Was with Mpixpro before that.
I was actually looking to sign up with you tonight, but I want to print with ProDPI so I guess I'll look elsewhere. Too bad, you seem great otherwise.
Mpixpro is hit or miss with their quality. As long as your product arrives in perfect condition then everything is fine but if you have a problem they ignore you. They have no phone support so they just don't email you back. It's very frustrating and bad business. I received a layflat book this past Monday with a spot on one of the faces and they are ignoring me. I can't deliver this to my client so what am I supposed to do? If I order it again what if it's bad again? So frustrated right now!!! Any recommendations on which lab does a similar book to Mpixpro's layflat book?
I am contemplating switching to shootproof for this feature alone. Love MPIXpro but ProDPI has products I REALLY want to sell to my clients (Like their matte prints. SO. BEAUTIFUL.) PLEASE OH PLEASE ZENFOLIO!
I prefer to us ProDPI also. I almost canceled my Zenfolio account just for that reason. I still use ProDPI for most of my orders but recently changed my Zenfolio Account to Premium just for the convenience of certain customers that would rather order directly. Only time will tell to see if that is worth the extra cost for me or not.
I self fulfill ONLY because I LOVE prodpi. If zenfolio used pro dpi I would do the orders through zenfolio. I wish I had votes left to vote this up :(.
looks like its unanimous!
everyone wants pro Dpi!
what are u waiting for zenfolio? just do it!
must have good quality lab!
Mpix is terrible for print quality!!! Go with ProDPI or WHCC. Mpix pro is the very worst of the pro labs out there. Is that who you want to be associated with?

I am also considering leaving for another cart because of poor print quality and for the fact that Mpix will not color correct my files. Takes far too long for me to get through my orders - the reason I came here to begin with! PLEASE either partner with PRO DPI or start color correcting. I'll definitely be out if you don't. Sorry.

This is my number one request... and the only reason I'm considering leaving Zen for ShootProof. So please partner with them... pretty please?

Here is another post that is similar wherein I recommend ProDPI in a larger discussion concerning shipping charges. I wish there was a way to combine these (and the votes).

I'd sign up right away!

I so agree with this. MPIX quality caused quite an uproar with my client...I had to swallow the cost and do it myself with WHCC. For now, I will stay at just viewing. Drives me nuts, but it was a hard lesson learned.

Yes! I specifically left zenfolio for this reason.
