I currently only sell Self Ful-Filled Products. Because of this, I pay Zenfolio 4% & Paypal 2.9%. Can Zen just take my clients Credit Card?
Since I ONLY sell, Self Ful-Filled Products, I end up paying about 7% commission, 4% to Zenfolio & 2.9% + $0.30 to Paypal for every sale I make. Also, since I only sell Self Ful-Filled products, the option for Zenfolio to simply take a credit card directly on their site is not available. In order to secure online payment, I am forced down the path of Paypal.
Would you PLEASE allow credit card transactions for self fulfilled orders? I would love to just get a payout from Zenfolio via Paypal at the end of each week, month, etc.... It also doesn't look nearly as professional when I have a client with a full shopping cart and then force them over to Paypal.

I can not stand Paypal. Why, oh why... is this not implemented in Zenfolio?!

@Derek On Premium Account you are correct, there is no fee, but they still force you to use Paypal.
@Michelle This is a PERFECT example of an end users experience that Zenfolio obviously hasn't thought out. Hopefully this will get some more votes and attract some more attention because it IS an issue and I think they made a business decision to not take CC charges for Self Ful-Filled Products which is NOT ok.

Does anyone from Zenfolio even read these comments? 110 votes, 10 months later, and still no resolution? I refuse to sell self-fulfilled products because payment is not collected by Zenfolio. I had a customer complain (rightfully so) yesterday because they ordered three products in their shopping cart. One product from Millers, one product from MPIX Pro, and one self-fulfilled. They were going to be charged $24+ in shipping! They were asked to submit two payments, one to Zenfolio through their credit card, and one through Paypal for the self-fulfilled product. Instead, they abandoned the order, sent me an extremely nasty note, and threatened to bash my company on Facebook. Instead of receiving the order, I gave them free products and ate the entire cost. Major fail, Zenfolio.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but insofar as I'm aware there are no Zenfolio commission fees at all on self-fulfilled products for Premium Business accounts?

I would love to see added support to receive our funds and accept payments from custom orders through dwolla. All transaction over 10 have a fee of .25 cents allowing you to save some money compared to dwolla

I agree. Zenfolio, this can't be a hard thing to allow & honestly, it looks more professional to accept credit cards right on the website. You are already charging us a fortune to sell, so why not give us self fulfillment users some real service? This gets 2 votes from me!

Agree! I don't mind paying the commission, but many clients and customers hate paypal. I also think it looks a tad unprofessional.

I agree. I sell disks with my photographs on it to my clients on occasion and not all have a paypal account and want to use their credit cards. It would be so much easier if zenfolio could just accept a credit card payment and and put the balance in my profits.

I came to respond to a comment that appears to have been removed? Does Zenfolio do that? It was not inappropriate or vulgar, it was simply stating the reality that this comment represents. I tend to agree with this user, however I'm not sure what other options are out there? I've searched and searched and Zenfolio is currently the only one that meets all my other needs and allows me to sell Self Ful-filled products.

I'm glad I came to this Vote.. I am in the initial trial period and have worked to get my site as customized as possible. I'm not paying 7% split to have my clients then have to follow the trail to paypal. This is a deal breaker for me. -

+1 on this , it was never mentioned that zenfolio would take a cut and then paypal would take a cut.
not a smooth transaction at all ! -

I don't mind paying commission, but too many steps and the client/customer will lose interest. If someone finds me on ZENFOLIO and makes a purchase without my interaction, then the fees are worth it. If ZENFOLIO is acting only as another vessel to capture the attention of a customer for which I still need to get involved to fill the order... then not such much. On the flip side: When I worked as a commercial illustrator (and life was good and bountiful) I had 4 art reps across the U.S. They received 25% of any work brought in right off the top, and 15% of any repeat business from the same client.

Why not send funds via dwolla instead of paypal. If zenfolio would send the funds in this manner it would be more cost efficient for both parties.

Self-fulfilling our products lets us add our own branding to the experience. Making our clients go through additional steps for payment takes away from that experience. :(

I agree J.G. When I first signed up for Zenfolio, the above break down of commission is NOT clear at all. I was under the impression that I would pay Zenfolio 4%, they would take my clients credit card and then send me my cash Fee Free via Paypal. In THAT case, I would be fine with paying them 4% which would cover the CC fee they pay and a little extra for them handling the who thing. If this were the case I would be very happy. It currently is not the case.

I've been complaining about this issue for a while. PayPal is a nice service and all... but it has no place in what's supposed to be a seamless and uniform customer experience.
Frankly, given that Zenfolio doesn't even accept CCs for self-fulfilled product sales, I truly don't see any rationalization behind them getting a cut in the first place. It's one thing for ZF to take a cut for vendor-fulfilled products, since ZF is handling the CC info and passing the order information on to the vendor. But what "extra", commission-worthy service is ZF providing for self-fulfilled products? Boggles the mind...

+1 on this suggestion. I'm on the same boat as you Brian. Clients appreciate a simple direct interface to credit card facilities and most often than not are put off with the experience of an additional need to transact business via Paypal.
