Calendar Based Booking

If you would like to have a Calendar Based Booking feature added, please vote. The idea is this: a potential client visits your site and wants to know your availability. She sees that a particular day is available, and clicks on that day. She is then presented with a form that contains fields of information that the photographer deems necessary. After filling out the information, the data is emailed to the photographer, and that date is temporarily booked, pending payment. If you would like a calendar/booking feature similar to this implemented, please vote now

As Zen is either unable to read the posts or unwilling to listen to what its subscribers would like without any feedback, I am now leaving Zenfolio. I will self host - saving me £100's a year and implement my own calendar system at least then I can choose what I do and not wait years for an answer, shame because Zenfolio was quite good.

ScheduleOnce is a Google calendar booking system that can connect to any calendar on a per booking basis.

Hi Daissy, So True! Adobe wants $x per month, Microsoft would rather have monthly income. all of this disjointed monthly fee activity eventually prices us into alternatives that do not include being in business!

IN reference to Zen User, I'm not sure of the Miller's motive to drop BookM. I don't believe they will be gaining monetarily. BookM would be a natural for Zen to pick up as a business partnering scenario. However, it's unfortunate that in their move to Zenfolio, features they had with their own web hosting have disappeared. I too, would like to know if certain features or fixes will ever be adopted, or if we are stuck lacking some basic needs.

sgiske: I noticed it. However, I'm not needing another monthly/yearly service. I have Pixifi, so I may use that instead if Zenfolio.com doesn't implement this soon.

Wow, this is two years old already. I really wish the admins would come here and update these requests. When I initially requested this, I wanted a way for my client to select a date, and pay session fee, based on a consultation session (email, phone, in person, etc). I've seen all sorts of suggestions from using Google Calendar, BookM, Bookfresh, etc, but seriously....to all the people listing these options, don't assume that you're the only ones that knows how to read and use Google. I "can" code it and plug it into a custom page myself, but since Zenfolio allows users to submit ideas, I did. The BookM, or BrownBookit now, is another example of bait-n-switch. That's why I don't want to get involved with all these "free" to use, and "simple to embed" technologies. Why would Millers all of a sudden stop providing this service...maybe to capitalize on the hundreds of people who are using it? Listen... I don't mind paying for great service, which is why I'd like to have this integrated within a service Im already paying $250/yr for at Zen. So please Zen, either state that you're considering this feature, or not so we can move on.

Daissy, There is good news. What you say is true but there is an answer. BookM may be leaving BUT BookM was created by Tim Brown and WILL STILL BE AVAILABLE by it's original name (instead of the MIllers branded name of BookM). You can migrate to http://brownbookit.com/ and the cost will be about $8.33 per month I am told (if you pay annually at $100).

This would be a great idea! I would like clients to be able to both book and pre pay for their studio sessions.

Still hoping for this. Just one thing: please don't make it only google-dependent. Half the world does not use google anything, including me.

There must be so many interfaces available for plugging into the most common calendars. I get webinar and meeting invitations all the time that allow me to click to add to my Mac Calendar and offer the same option for Microsoft and google. I bet it would be simple enough to allow the user to choose to have all appointments automatically copied to their choice of local calendar. Don't forget time zone recognition, either!

If this does make it to the "todo" list, perhaps a calendar that either shows availability or allows people to select dates and times, then shows the nearest three or four dates and times if their first choice isn't available (like booking airline tickets for example).

Personally, also, the ability to link in to multiple Google calendars to check availability would be lovely

I do not want anyone to see my calendar. I think posting availability is giving away too much info to potential clients.

"They really don't seem to respond to the stuff we want the most!"

Not sure what feature you're referring to, but if you're referring to this one, it's #8 on the list of features requested by Zenfolio users. Is that considered 'stuff we want the most'?

I agree that a calendar booking tool would be nice if it were offered by Zenfolio, but really, if you want it that badly, there's a TON of web services where this is offered. In fact, the Zenfolio how-do-i-use-Zenfolio website, http://www.whitegoldphotography.com/appointment-scheduler, has a great example of what can be accomplished with very little fuss. All it takes is the will to do it.
